Volunteering

The North Tyneside Steam Railway is solely dependent on volunteers and is always in need of more volunteers to help keep the railway alive. There are many volunteers from all walks of life on the railway carrying out a wide range of exciting and challenging tasks.

We are always in need of interested people who can spare some time to help out. Volunteers cover every aspect of the railway and whilst some roles require a certain amount of time commitment, others do not. Volunteering at the North Tyneside Steam Railway is an amazing way to develop new skills and interests, meet like-minded people who share similar interests, gain confidence and a sense of achievement and can even help to bolster your CV.

Volunteering commitment

• Become a member of the NTSRA

• Register with Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums

• Attend an induction

• A reasonable level of health and fitness is required
